Established in July 1993 the Probus Club of Eltham North has just celebrated its 30th anniversary.  The Club provides a venue for active retirees in the Nillumbik, Banyule and adjacent areas.  The Club meets monthly at the Greensborough RSL which was also the venue for the birthday party.  After a short general meeting the party commenced with games, a trivia quiz based on 1993 and jokes, and lots of cake!  Members decorated the tables with cards, ribbons, lollies, whistles and poppers, for a ‘back to childhood’ feel.

Two highlights of the party were:

  • The presentation of certificates to members with more than 15 years in the Club including Bob Braby our last original foundation member.  The certificates were presented by Ian Toohill, the current President of Eltham Rotary Club.
  • The cutting of our birthday cake by Bob Braby.  This was just the ‘ceremonial’ cake.  There was lots more for members to enjoy.

A good time was had by all and we look forward to the next 30 years of our club.
